X Book & X Book With Pockets Structure Online Demonstration (FREE)
The single sheet folded "X Book" and "X Book with Pockets," as introduced by Alisa Golden in her book "Making Handmade Books: 100+ Bindings Structures & Forms," is a unique and innovative twist on the traditional single sheet folded X book. This particular variation incorporates pockets, adding a functional and artistic dimension to the bookbinding technique.
Bookbinder Edward Patrick Kranz will demonstrate an easy-to-follow online tutorial of the X Book and its variation, X Book with Pockets. He will briefly discuss the history of this fundamental structure, and its possible applications in the bookbinding realm, and answer any questions you may have on the process. Mr. Kranz will cover basic bookbinding terminology, and discuss setting up a print file for the X Book structure.
The session will be recorded and available via an unlisted link for all participants. You will also be provided with a printable template to make your own X Book.
